"Circular Textiles" promoted by SIG I. Green Textiles Club

The Portuguese Textile Cluster, in particular the Special Interest Group dedicated to the Circular Economy (SIG I. Green Textiles Club), organized the "Circular Textile" session in the scope of "Famalicão Circular".

Textiles are present in our daily lives and clothing is perhaps its most visible form. Although scarcely mentioned, the textile and clothing industry is responsible for excessive consumption of resources and generation of waste. In this sense, it is a visible expression of the linear economic model characterized by "extract - produce - consume - discard". The purpose of this session was to reflect, among the companies from the textile industry, the various ways in which this situation can be reversed, as well as the re-design challenge for the textile and clothing sector.
